Twelve-year-old Isa and her younger siblings, Johnno, Rosie and Billy, live with their mother, Ann Wyatt. Their father is away building the Great Ocean Road, for which his family receives food parcels every week. Ann is making ends meet by working as a cleaner, the children do what they can by delivering papers, collecting bottles and taking in washing. The family is just coping.

The only thing left is for the children to be split up and placed in orphanages, but Isa will not have that. She evades the people trying to help them by inventing an “Auntie Kate”, who she says is waiting for them in Colac. And so, with only the bare essentials packed into a pram, the children set off on a train ride to Colac and then a long walk in search of their father.

Ann Wyatt with her four kids Isa, Johnno, Rosie, and Billy are living alone and away from their father who is a hardworking man building the Great Ocean Road for which his family only receives food as parcel on a weekly basis. Ann the mother is working as a cleaner in order to support her kids and her children help her by delivering news papers, collecting bottles, and washing from what people have given them to wash. Then one day, while working, Ann is knocked unconscious and taken to hospital, where she is diagnosed with TB.
What is left is the children to be split into orphanages but the oldest child Isa does not want that. She escapes from people trying to help by making up a story about an Auntie Kate who she claims is waiting and sets off in a pursuit for her father.
I recommend this book to those children who loves story's about family's how they spend their life's.

The Long Walk

I have finished reading the story and frankly i enjoyed it. This novel was written by Kerry GreenWood.

Their mother has fallen ill and they set of in search of there father. The poor children have a small amount of money and so they can't travel to so many places. At the end the five find there father and help save their mother.

I enjoyed this story because these children were persistent and brave enough to travel through the various places alone. I recommend this book to grade five to seven because it will teach them to understand the adult world.

In a nutshell, their perseverance can be aptly described by confucius' famous quote, " a journey of a thousand miles begins with one step."

The 20th Century

The 20th Century is a kind of a comic book, its talks about all the years and what happened at each year. For example the year 1920 women where allowed to vote for presidents. The year 1914 World War 1 starts in Europe. The year 1989 the Berlin wall falls.

I would recommend this book to people who like reading about history and would love to know what happened during that time.

I really enjoyed the book and I think that the reader's will as well enjoy the book.

Worried Sick for the writer (RACHEL FLYNN)

A worried Sick was written by Rachel Flynn. Peter Carlo's is worried sick. He worries about everything! For a start, his father leaves medical journals lying around, and Peter could have any number of terrible diseases. And if there's the hole in the ozone layer, the world's water shortage, and whether Bridgette will speak to him at school tomorrow.
Kristy only worries about her mother is pregnant. Joan is concerned about her homework, and Thadeus thinks he's not learning enough. Then there's Melinda, the new girl who has some very diffrent worries altogether!
I rocommend this book to people in my age and i really like the book because it's fuuny and it's intresting in the same time. Also and it's about school and i like this kind of books, also because the characters are resemble. And it's one of my favourite books.
A message to the writer:
I think you are one of the best writers , if not the best writer in the world. I have read some of your books more than twice like:'I Hate Fridays', 'It’s Not Fair', 'I Can’t Wait . And i would like to read more about your books. Most of your characters are resemble people at my school. Like Kirsty Dean-at least maybe 3 girls in grade six are like her. And Thadeus Antwerp-a boy at my school is the same. He's a genius, and he likes a girl, but she dislike him (im sure). I think your books are great !!
